Covid-19 measures in place for the safety of us all:

* If you, or anyone in your household, or contacts have had any symptoms of Covid-19, ie new persistant cough, or fever or loss of taste or smell, in the last 14 days, or if you feel unwell in any other way, then please do not sign up. I will also need you to confirm to me at the ride start that you and your household are symptom free.

* If you are in the extremely vulnerable category or have been told to self-isolate Welsh Cycling recommends you do not participate in activities

* Please maintain social distancing of a minimum of 2 metres 'head to head' at all times from each other and from members of the public, where it is safe to do so, especially when stopping at junctions, crossings, hazards and when off the bikes.
* Please avoid touching others' bikes, or sharing anything, eg food, spares, money (ideally bring a card).
* Bring your own hand gel/wipes, drink and snack. NB come prepared to fix issues on your bike yourself if at all possible, ie pump, spare tube, tyre levers. Guidance will be available at a distance.
If you have any questions, please either 'message ride creator' through Lets Ride, or post it on the ride conversation tab

This is a scenic ride down the Taff and Ely trails to the Bay, and returning via the Taff Trail and the new cycle way.

We'll ride from Hailey Park down the Taff Trail to Sophia Gardens, then on generally quiet roads through Pontcanna across to the Ely Trail, which we'll follow down to the International Sports Village. We'll have lovely views of Cardiff Bay as we cross to Cardiff Bay Wetland Reserve and Hamadryad Park. After an outside refreshment stop in the bay area,(buy takeaway / alternatively bring your own) we'll return via the Taff trail, joining the new cycleway skirting Bute Park up to Gabalfa and some quiet roads back to the start.

We will be cycling on a mixture of shared cycle paths, segregated cycleway, and quiet roads. Suitable for all bikes including nextbikes and electric bikes. Please note that the Ely trail is a mainly grit surface, and may be muddy/wet if there has been recent rain, so is not really recommended for your best road bike!

There will be an outside self-catered/takeaway stop in the Bay area, toilets available.

Please bring a spare inner tube, cycle helmets are advised. Also some money/card if you want to buy takeaway refreshments..

We never leave anyone behind
