Discover 'The Apple Box' - A Cake Ride!

This is a HSBC UK Breeze Ride, led by women for women. Ride leaders are called Breeze Champions and are trained as level 1 or level 2 ride leaders by British Cycling. They are all volunteers and hold current first aid certificates.

Yes, this really is a ride that is all about the cake!!!
A lovely rural ride out to The Apple Box Tea Room at Herne Hill to sample the homemade cakes !! This tea room is only open on Thursday, hence a weekday ride!

Please note, this area is not flat! But don't let those pesky hills stop you from coming out on your bike and stop you from coming out and enjoying our beautiful countryside- we cycle as far as we can and then we walk!!

Please note that ride duration times are very approximate, it takes as long as it takes...we do not rush or race!!


First timers are always welcome and we are happy to help you unload/load your bike from your car!

Please remember your.....
- spare inner tube, pump and tools needed if you don't have quick release wheels
- helmet
- water bottle(s)
- suitable clothing 
- any medications
- money for refreshments
- a contact number for a lift/assistance in case of mechanical breakdown!! (ride leaders are not trained mechanics!)

Please check your bike over before you leave for the ride eg. brakes, tyres, chain, gears etc.!!
