Danson Park "Evening ride" to o2 Greenwich

A Tuesday evening summer social ride to the o2 at North Greenwich, where we will be riding along the Thames path taking in the beautiful Sights, Sounds and Smells of the capital passing many historic landmarks. This ride is a steady and a slightly faster paced ride than the usual “Healthy rides” but still not too fast, we will wait for all riders, no one is left behind. Come along and join the fun. We will be riding around the peninsular on the Thames path, past the Emirates cable car towards Greenwich yacht club and past the Thames barrier onto the missing link, which has now been in operation for one year, where we will stop briefly to view the MV Royal Iris, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Royal_Iris the former Mersey ferry built in the 1950s which moved to London in 2002 and was going to be converted to a party boat however this never happened and is now stranded at Woolwich. We will then continue along to the location of King Henry’s dock dating back to 1513 and closing in 1869, we then pass the Woolwich ferry, a ferry has operated here since the 14th century continuing onto Woolwich Arsenal, coming into land towards Plumstead navigating the quiet back streets of Welling heading for Danson park, completing approx 18 miles, once at Danson park there is the option to visit the newly refurbished Danson Stables for some well-deserved refreshments.

Please ensure your bike is in a roadworthy condition and that the tyres are fully inflated, ideally you have at least one spare innertube and that your seat is at the correct height.
