Let's stop CLOG from walking all over us! That's why we offer membership for free rather than expecting you to hand over your hard-earned cash! But there is a catch - because we're a "Southwark" group, you have to start rides in Southwark or at Cutty Sark Gardens - we get hardly any riders if we start our rides at remote railway stations.

CLOG is doing a ride on the same day as us and will explore the area around Meopham by bike (https://www.letsride.co.uk/rides/circular-cycle-ride-round-the-kent-lanes). But why are cyclists being expected to join a walking group to do cycle rides? Surely if cyclists want to join a group, it would be a cycling group? That is why Cyclists in Southwark was set up.

It is not just CLOG that have an interest in Meopham. Bromley Cyclists have gone there too (http://www.bromleycyclists.org/event/over-the-hills-to-meopham/), but why go over the hills to Meopham when you could go round them to get there?

We meet for it at Cutty Sark Gardens and will start by following the Thames Path eastwards to the new "missing link" elevated cycle path and Woolwich. We then join the newly refurbished Ridgeway cycle path, which now includes a Bexley section, out to Southmere Lake and Lesnes Abbey.

We then make our way through Erith, Dartford and past Bluewater to Nell's cafe, which is a mile or so past the Cyclo-cross Center. We stop there for lunch and then cycle to Meopham to look at the windmill there and to take the train back to London.

Please bring working lights and a spare inner tube.
