We have cooked up a tasty treat of a ride from Coxhoe. The route will take us via Town Kelloe, Deaf Hill, Hurworth Burn Reservoir then along the Castle Eden Walkway past Wynyard Woodland Park to visit the Celestial Kitchen sculpture and the Planetarium. We will then return north via the same route until we meet the A689 where we will travel alongside it on the track until we turn off towards Sedgefield. We will then pass through Mainsforth, Bishop Middleman and Cornforth before returning to Coxhoe. In order for the ride to leave promptly, please be punctual so we can carry out bike checks, etc. prior to us setting off. Make sure your bike is in working condition and bring a spare tube to fit your tyres. We should be out for about 5-6 hours but as always it is difficult to be precise about timing. In view of COVID-19 we will be taking this into account with our ride leading and we will follow government guidelines. Please note the following: • We are riding with smaller group sizes. This may change as government guidance dictates. • We will not share any equipment so please be organised and bring your own items eg drink, spare inner tube, tyre levers and pump, sun cream and hand sanitiser. • You should pay particular attention to your bike being in good working order before attending a ride so as to minimise risks and disruption to rides. • We will ride taking social distancing into account. • Participants must not attend a ride if they have COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms • Anyone who develops COVID symptoms after a ride must contact the leader who will inform British Cycling HQ who will then contact everyone who attended the ride. You can contact the leader directly via the ‘Message Ride Creator’ tab in the ride posting on let’s ride unless you have their direct contact details already. For any last minute cancellations on the day please text 07779 346206 (note this phone is only for the day of the ride) otherwise use the option to cancel when you log in to letsride.co.uk. Hope you can join us for a fun and friendly ride. If you want any more information email us at [email protected].

We will be riding mainly on cyclepaths, country lanes and a very short section of the A177

We will plan to stop for refreshments at either The Station House Tea Rooms near Thorpe Thewles, which closes at 3pm on a Saturday or Cafe Number 4 in Sedgefield which closes at 5pm. Please bring some snacks and a drink to keep you energised or just incase we don’t get to Thorpe Thewles before it closes.

As always we can’t predict the weather so please dress suitably. You are better to be overdressed as you can always take layers off. Protective equipment such as helmets, eye protection and gloves are always recommended.

We never leave anyone behind
