Whether you are new to cycling, getting back on a bike for the first time after a break here is the perfect opportunity to build your confidence in a traffic-free, fun and friendly environment. This series of three coaching sessions has been designed to take you step by step through some core cycling skills and to help build your confidence and improve your skills. Ideally, please sign up to all three, but otherwise please come to what you can. In the first session we’ll focus on developing core and bike handling skills and then, in the later sessions, we will build on these skills and also introduce some group riding so that you’ll leave with the confidence to join one of our Breeze rides. There will be plenty of opportunities to practice what you learn and to ask questions. Please also join us on the ‘Breeze Network Basingstoke’ Facebook page for updates and more information on upcoming rides.

The coaching will take place on the tennis courts. We will also offer an optional short (up to one hour) ride following the course each week so that you can practice your new skills. This will be on quiet local roads and country roads.

NOTE: Please make sure BEFORE the course that your bike has been serviced or that you have ridden it and checked that the tyres are pumped up, and that brakes and gears all work well. * A bike with gears that is in safe working order (with the tyres pumped up firmly). These could be either: Road Bike, Mountain Bike or Hybrid/Town Bikes (sorry no BMX or Single Speed/Fixies). * A helmet – you cannot take part without one * Suitable clothing for cycling/weather. Please do not wear loose clothing; Leggings are ideal as they cannot get caught up in the bike. (Bear in mind there will be frequent stops for discussion so over-dress if unsure! Bring gloves). * Trainers or sturdy flat shoes. * Bring a drink and something to eat (if needed) and remember to tell us on the day if you have anything of a medical nature you wish to let us know about.

We especially welcome newbies!
