Route rating

A fairly flat and quiet route to include various features of the holiday town of Southport

Mostly quiet roads, on road cycle routes and paths and well surfaced farm lanes.

There are several potential cafe stops for lunch, viz: Merlin's Bakery Cafe at 15 miles, The Farm Burscough at 17 miles, Silcock's fish and chip cafe at 25 miles, Hesketh Park cafe at 27 miles and the Botanic gardens cafe at 29 miles. Hopefully one of them will be open!

Helmets are always advisable, but NOT compulsory. Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment together with a mask in case one is required. Emergency or daytime running lights are recommended. Weather is predicted to be dry and sunny, but fridge temperature; so warm clothing required.
