The route passes through Chorley to Charnock Richard, Welch Whittle, Wrightington, Bispham Green and Lathom. We pass through Ormskirk to Halsall for lunch at the Village Bakehouse in Halsall.
The return will be via Clieves Hills, Aughton, Town Green, Scarth Hill and Westhead, passing over Dalton and Ashurst's Beacon, the only significant hill on the route. There follows a steep descent from Roby Mill to Shevington and Coppull then back to Chorley. The displayed route is only the return leg, the outgoing being only undulating with an overall descent.
Total distance is 46 miles.
