Starting from - Start at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU. Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sunday.

The Route goes via Botany bay and Whittle Springs to Top Lock and pretty much follows the National Cycle Network route 91 along Denham Lane to Salisbury Bottoms, then Further Lane to cross the A59 to Mellor Brook. From here it goes along Bezza Lane and it's views of the Ribble Valley, to return across the A59 to Roach Bridge, Gregson Lane and Whittle-le-Woods, utilising cycle paths through Clayton Brook and Whittle-le-Woods, then back to Chorley.

A mostly quiet road route with some cycle paths to pass along Bezza Lane with associated views of the River Ribble. Hilly, though no long hills.

Mostly quiet roads, some sections of cycle path on the return route.

Opportunity for a cafe stop at Cafe Delphine in Gregson Lane on the return leg.

Helmets are always advisable, though NOT compulsory. Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair kit, together with emergency or daytime running lights. Cash or card if you require any lunch.
