We will set off from Millhouses Park and climb up to Owler Bar, before a lovely descent down to Baslow and past Edensor to Chatsworth House. After our coffee stop we will continue through the beautiful Chatsworth estate before a steep climb from Beeley with spectacular views, up towards Eastmoor. We then stay on the high ground for a while before passing through the villages of Cutthorpe and Barlow and then have a final climb up to Holmesfield, following which we continue towards Owler Bar, then descend back to Sheffield.

Route rating

5 stars (2) Reviews

This challenging route takes us into the Peak District and to Chatsworth, Beeley and the surrounding countryside. We will tackle some tricky hills, but will enjoy some beautiful panoramic views and some fun descents too. While this route has some challenging moments, we will ride at a steady pace and regroup after the hills, and no-one will get left behind.

We will be riding on roads with mostly good surfaces, but there will be some fast moving traffic that may overtake us quickly. Please ensure you are comfortable riding on fast roads before signing up.

We will stop for a brew and a cake at Chatsworth House in the Stable Block. Please note there are no bike racks in the Stable Block, so a lock is a good idea.

Please bring a drink with you and some money for the cafe stop. Please ensure your bike is in good working order and bring a spare inner tube, multi-tool/spanner and a pump with you. We’ll help you if you get a puncture, but you need to carry the right tube for your bike. :-) Helmets are advised but not compulsory. Laura x
