Ride details. Start/finish Peckham Square, next to Peckham Library. 9 mile loop through parks and open spaces where hopefully we will see some butterflies. Ride coincides with the Big Butterfly Count. We will not be counting, but will visit good places to count if you are inspired to return. Main sites to be visited: Peckham Rye Park (wildflower meadows), Ruskin Park (Nature Reserve), Myatts Fields (wild area), Burgess Park (wild flower bank). Easy ride with plenty of time allowed for hunting for butterflies. Fingers crossed this good weather continues. Route at http://goo.gl/v14knG . More information about the Big Butterfly Count at http://www.bigbutterflycount.org/. Report from July 22nd 2017 ride at http://healthyrider.weebly.com/healthy-ride-reports-june-july-2017.html.
We will keep everyone as safe as possible by observing all the Covid Regulations. Still important that we maintain routinely a 2m social distance, never less than 1m. Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users on shared paths. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe. Just in case we need them, good idea to bring a face mask. Obviously please do not turn up to this event if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
This ride is organised by Southwark Cyclists, and is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/. Southwark Cyclists are part of the London Cycling Campaign. This ride is organised by volunteers. If you have any feedback, good or bad, please get in touch with [email protected]. For details of LCC’s Safeguarding and other policies please see lcc.org.uk

Quiet, easy route looking for butterflies in local parks and open spaces. Ride co-incides with the Big Butterfly count.

Mostly queit streets, some paths, short stretches of busier road.

Lots of stops to search for butterflies. No long coffee stop.

Just your bike and your self!
