We will meet at the Leisure Centre at 9:30. We leave via the town cycle path and ride through Stratford sub Castle. We then cycle in the Woodford Valley up to the High Post and down the other side passing the Golf Club. Next we cycle to Gomeldon (short hill up to the school) and into Porton. At the crossroads we turn right and cycle past the entrance to Porton Down. We cross over the A30 at the traffic lights and then cycle into Pitton. We then take a right turn and head up in the direction of the A30. Near to the junction of the A30 we will find Salisbury sunflowers - 16 miles into the journey.
We will need to make a donation to enter . I don't suggest picking sunflowers as too difficult to transport - maybe come back another time by car? Tea/coffee/cake available but please bring CASH.There is also a toilet available - potaloo! We will spend about 45 mins/one hour at the sunflowers.
We then cross a track and cross over the A338 down into Ford, round the back of Old Sarum and back to the Leisure Centre.
A lovely ride with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Wiltshire countryside. We will ride at the pace of the slowest rider. Walking up the hills is always an option. We're out to enjoy ourselves!
