Breeze to Carr Mill Dam

An easy paced ride out through Sankey Valley to St Helens, following the Sankey Canal up to Carr Mill Dam.

This is an off road route following the Sankey Canal out towards St Helens. The route is mainly flat and and good for those that may want to increase there mileage or not confident riding on roads.

We have a short stretch of road to travel along before arriving in Sankey Valley Park and travel along cycle pathways where possible. The route through the Valley is a mixture of tarmac and gravel pathways. Due to the weather conditions at the moment, there may be sections of the route that will be muddy.

We will stop to refresh, refuel and have a natter at one of our favourite cafe stops. We have the opportunity to continue up to the Dam depending on weather conditions. There are plenty of places to stop to rest along the way.

Please ensure you wear and bring along clothing suitable for the weather conditions. It is advisable to bring along a drink to keep hydrated during the ride. You will also need money for any refreshments you may wish to purchase at our cafe stop. Please ensure your bike is in working order and bring along a spare inner tube and any specialist tools you may need. Please be advised that although this ride is off road helmets are advisable. Please do not be put off by punctures as we are all able to help out.
