PR1 4LX

We set of from Frenchwood carpark and ride along a short stretch of residential road to join the Guildwheel cyclepath. We turn left onto the cycle path and head of towards London rd. We cross this using the cycle crossing provided and join the cycle path that takes us down towards the river. We now enjoy a scenic ride along the guildwheel path, negotiating some cattle grids, a couple of short climbs and take the splendid views of the River Ribble. Look out for little Egrets , herons, swans and the occasional kestrel. Our destination is the floating Brockholes visitors centre where we can make use of the facilities. We then return via our outward route keeping your eyes peeled for deer that can often be seen on the reserve.
This is lovely route with great views of the River Ribble and a few small climbs on which to practice your gear changing skills.
We will aim for an average speed of 8-10 miles an hour

This route will suit women who are new or returning to cycling. But as with all Breeze ride all women are welcome.

The route is almost entirely traffic free making use of the Preston Guild wheel cycle path. All bikes are suitable for this terrain but must be in a road worthy condition.

We will stop at Brockholes nature reserve where we can enjoy a breather and take advantage of facilities.

Please bring some water and a snack. Be prepared for cold/warm/wet weather conditions. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet. Prior to the start of the ride there will be a short bike check and safety brief but please make sure that your bike is in working order before joining the ride. Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair

This is a small friendly group of women who enjoy a gentle ride round the parks and cycleways in our area. We love to welcome new members and we never leave anyone behind.
