Starting point

We start at Frenchwood recreation ground and join the Guildwheel path as far as Tram road. We then cross the river Ribble and follow cycle route 55 to Ceurden valley, we retrace our steps for the return journey. There a couple of roads to cross but all cycling takes place on traffic free paths . There are a few small hills to climb which we will take at a steady pace and regroup at the top if necessary. This a picturesque ride through Preston and South Ribbles excellent cycle ways.

This is a great route connecting two lovely parks . There are a few short sharp climbs so there is an opportunity to try out your climbing legs. This route is great for those who want to cycle a little further but do not want to cycle on the road.

The route is entirely traffic free. We cycle along the Guild wheel path and connecting cycleways in south ribble. All bikes are suitable for this terrain but must be in a road worthy condition.

There will be a planned stop at Ceurden valley park , however there will be plenty of opportunities to stop, catch your breath and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Please bring some water and a snack.Be prepared for warm/wet weather conditions. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet. Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair

This is a small friendly group of women who enjoy a gentle ride round the parks and cycleways in our area. We love to welcome new members and we never leave anyone behind.
