We will ride from Thoresby Hall, through the lovely countryside, the village of perelsthorpe and onto Clumber. Taking in the lake and church from a distance before heading back over to Thoresby. Lovely ride through the trees in clumber.

Gentle ride suitable for beginners who want to challenge themselves to increase their distance. Approximately 11 miles (But we can decide to extend this on the paths around clumber depending on how we feel on the day).

It is all on off road cycle paths, route 6 of the National Cycle Network or permissive access roads through the estates with limited access therefore limited traffic. The elevation (how much uphill) will vary if we extend the route however 512ft can be expected. Mountain bikes or gravel/hybrid bikes. (Not suitable for road bikes/tyres due to the terrain).

On a Saturday we will stop at one of two places for a drink / snack so please bring cash. Broomwagon will be halfway round the route in Clumber. The Café at Thoresby is the other option when we finish the ride. Links to both places below. https://www.facebook.com/broomwagonretford/ http://whatsonatthoresby.co.uk/plan-your-visit/food-and-drink/ On a Thursday evening please bring own drinks and snacks as both cafes will be closed.

Helmets must be worn. Please wear suitable clothes for the bike i.e. Clothes that won’t flap around and that are stretchy and comfortable for you (Lycra optional). Bring along a drink for the ride, cash for the café (Café open on Saturday rides only) and parking and spare inner tubes for your bike. We can show you how to fix a puncture. We will be doing an “M” check before we set off. Here is a link should you want to have a look at your bike at home. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/knowledge/article/izn20131111-The-M-Check-0 There is currently no parking fee at Thoresby but I have been told this is something that they are bringing in over the summer and could be approximately £3 per day.

No one is left behind and we will vary the pace depending on the group and wait as needed.
