(0) ReviewsPlease take a minute to look at British Cycling’s guidance regarding cycling activity during Covid-19 before booking on this ride https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/about/article/20200512-about-bc-news-British-Cycling-Updated-Coronavirus-Guidance-0 Here is a link to frequently asked Questions about riding during these times https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/about/article/20200512-about-bc-news-British-Cycling-Updated-Coronavirus-Guidance-0 This ride is a steady 17 mile ride through the West Devon countryside. The ride will be undulating with a few hills to get your legs working. We will circle in an anticlockwise direction to Lifton before returning via Sprytown and over the Roadford Reservoir dam. There will be views across to Dartmoor and of Roadford Reservoir. There is no planned toilet stop on this route although the toilets at the Roadford Visitors Centre may be open.
We will mostly be riding on narrow West Devon country lanes which are quiet but have potholes. However one of the steady climbs is on a B road that can have fast traffic on it. As the roads are narrow we stop if we need to let farm vehicles past. We ask that you to ride in single file and maintain 2 bike lengths from the person in front of you at all times, including at junctions.
There will be short stops to eat jelly babies or energy bars but there is no planned toilet or cafe stop
We require you to wear a helmet if you are riding with us. Please make sure that you bike is mechanically sound and that you carry at least one spare inner tube for your bike as well as means to inflate it. Please also bring a bottle of drink to take on your ride and any energy bars or sweets that you might need. To comply with COVID-19 Restrictions please bring gloves and hand sanitiser with you and sanitise your hands before and after your ride. We will have socially distanced refreshments and chat on the village green post ride so please bring with you whatever you would like to eat and drink. Refreshments are not to be shared between participants.
We never leave anyone behind
