This is a more challenging route with some sections on relatively busy roads. We will start the ride with the Ashton Court hill, not my favourite but we can look at the deer and take our time.
This then lets us ride through Failand and then down a lovely, swooping descent into Portbury. From here we cross the M4 on the pedestrian/cycle bridge and cycle towards Portishead. The route leaves Portishead, through Weston-in-Gordano and onto Clevedon. We will take short, sharp climb so we can get to the sea front and see the pier and then a stop for coffee. The cycle back is lovely; we will be on the National Cycle Network routes on quiet lanes to Backwell and then on the cycle path back into Long Ashton. A reasonable distance ride but other than the first hill and then a climb in Clevedon the route is very flat. Some roads might be a little busy but hopefully a Thursday morning shouldn't be too bad. We will make sure everyone stays together and take our time up the first hill!

Don't forget sun cream, a lock, money for coffee, helmet, spare inner tube etc.
