Last year we went looking for the pole that wasn't there, but this year there have been sitings! We are determined to find it this time.
Celebrating the Charter for Trees, the Woodland Trust Pole at Burnhall Woods wasn't in place last time went looking for it! It's now in and ready for visiting. This route starts from Sunderland Bridge and then circles the Pole via Hett, Metalbridge and Coxhoe before returning via Croxdale estate to sneak up on it before heading for refreshments close by.

A short and scenic ride out from Sunderland Bridge in search of the much sought after Woodland Charter Pole.

The route is on bridleway and quiet unclassified roads around Sunderland Bridge

Kath has kindly offered to provide refreshments at her home in Low Burnhall once we have found the pole! Please bring along a £5 contribution to her charity.

It's February, so it will be cold - please make sure you bring good gloves and warm leggings and socks as well as water and windproof outerwear. We also recommend at least one buff. It is also a good idea to carry a spare inner tube that fits your bike. We always ride with helmets and encourage you to do the same.

First-timers welcome!
