Parking at Risley Memorial Hall, post code RG7 1SD.
Lovely 24 mile rural ride out from the Riseley Memorial Hall, mainly along quiet lanes taking in the villages of Mortimer, Silchester ( site of the Roman Silchester amphitheatre), Bramley and Stratefield Saye before looping back to the car park. Coffee stop planned for the House 28 Café at Sherfield on Lodden, which is well over the half way mark so a snack or banana might be worth thinking about. However if you can last, the cafe is fab and does all sorts of treats and smoothies which might be tempting :)
The weather is set to be warm, sunny and dry, but keep an eye on the forecast and dress accordingly. Please bring sunscreen and plenty of fluids to keep hydrated. Having done an off road ride last week, this will be a much faster pace, so please bear this in mind when signing up. As always, please check out your bike beforehand and bring along a spare inner tube and pennies for refreshments. The route is certainly undulating with a few longish hills to get the heart pumping so a good command of gears and plenty of energy is required. I have marked the ride as challenging, so if you have any queries please contact me.
Myself and Susie will be leading this country ride
The route is mainly country lane although there are short stretches of busy road
Yes coffee stop planned for just after the half way mark
As always please wear helmets, dress for the weather and a light waterproof might be worthwhile. Check your bike before departure and ensure you have a spare inner tube and pump
We never leave anyone behind
