Breeze along the ribble

We leave the pavilion by the river and head along to frenchwood then loop back to the pavilion, climb up to Miller walk then make our way to Fishergate hill and onto Holme road as far as Priory park. We then double back on ourselves and head to broad gate and the cycleway along th ribble. We then cross the river on the cobble bridge and cycle along the paths to the new wetlands park. We make our way through quiet streets to the old firestation and rejoin the cycle paths to Preston Junction. we then head back to avenham park were we cycle along the river and through quiet streets to again cross the cobbled bridge. We now follow this path to the old railway bridge , climb onto this and cross the river to our starting point.

This an gentle route ideal for those starting their cycling journey or returning after a long break.

There are no planned coffee stops but we will stop for a breather along the way.

Please bring some water, a snack and some money if you wish to purchase food or drink at the coffee stop. Be prepared forwarm/ wet weather conditions. Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet. Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair Prior to the start of the ride there will be a short bike check and safety brief but please make sure that your bike is in working order before joining the ride.

This is small friendly group who enjoy cycling along the scenic paths of Preston and south Ribble. We never leave anyone behind
