This is a Blazing Blue route, aimed at intermediate riders who are comfortable with 20+ miles, at a speed of 10-11 mph using country lanes with moderate hills. Over the 3 ride series we will include places such as Penn, Beaconsfield, Meadle, Stoke Mandeville. The exact route will depend on the conditions that morning. Most of the roads will be quieter country lanes but there will be busier stretches at time which is unavoidable, as are some hills! First-timers welcome!
A road or hybrid bike is suitable.
We will stop for water breaks and to keep the group together as well as having a coffee stop.
I would prefer you to wear a cycling helmet. Please bring two spare inner tubes, a bike pump, a drink of water and card/money for our stop (please note: many places take card payment only), hand sanitiser and a face covering. Please note that we cannot share tools/ equipment. I expect participants to take responsibility for ensuring they are well and not coming on the ride if they display signs of COVID-19. British Cycling are keen for group cycling to continue in the most socially distanced way possible. You can wear a mask if you feel it is appropriate. Ultimately, only you can decide if you feel safe from the risks of COVID-19 to ride at this time.
