This is an HSBC British Cycling Breeze ride for members of BellaVelo.

We are going for brunch (served from 12noon) at the scrumptious and friendly White Hart pub in Chobham.

Road bikes, road bike types (eg gravel bikes with non-knobbly road tyres), and nippy hybrids are all welcome. As are cleats and flat pedals.

Quiet pretty roads as far as possible. Chobham and brunch is 20miles from Bushy Park (25miles from Richmond Park). We should leave Chobham around 1pm in order to get back by the advertised times.

This is a fully led ride.

We shall be aiming to average around 20-23kph/13.5mph over the distance (Strava moving average speed). This means that we shall normally be cycling along c.24kph/15mph.

These are not strict numbers. Pace of the slowest. Own pace on hills, re-grouping at the top/bottom. We shall aim to cycle tidily, in single file and, when road conditions and traffic allow, side-by-side; no problem should someone wish to opt out, we understand that this can be daunting and that sometimes people just want some space. Road cycling etiquette (we’ll explain, it’s easy). Our ride priority will be to enjoy!

Relaxed comfortable cycling, looking out for each other.

YOUR BIKE
Must be clean and in excellent working order. Tyres 90-95psi (feels like a hard apple). No squeaking. MUDGUARDS would be really appreciated - thank you. BIKE LIGHTS. One spare inner tube (you do not need to bring other tools, unless you would like to, as the Breeze ride leader/s will have tools :> )

WATER & SNACKS
2 bottles of water. An emergency snack.

DRESSING FOR AUTUMN
Several thin layers are better than one thick layer. A windproof layer (like a gilet, or windproof baselayer). Do wear your BellaVelo kit if you have it. Buff / neckwarmer.
