Beginners Breeze to Bishop Auckland

An 8 mile route starting from Willington Leisure Centre car park, we'll pick up the Brandon - Bishop Auckland line and make our way along to Bishop Auckland, taking in the delights of the County Durham countryside along the way. We'll head to the Auckland Cupcake company for refreshments before heading back along the lines.

A ride along the lines from Willington to Bishop Auckland. This ride is ideal for beginners - we'd love to see you and will never leave anyone behind!

The majority of this route is traffic free, with the odd road crossing. We'll be using the cycle path - the surface can be rough and muddy but the ride is quite flat overall.

We'll have a short stop outside Kynren before we head back - please bring your own snacks and drinks.

Please bring a cycle helmet and dress suitably for the weather. Please make sure your bike is in working condition and that you have a spare inner tube that fits your tyres, tyre levers and a pump. Social distancing measure will be in place and leaders will carry sanitiser, gloves and masks should any assistance prove necessary.
