We start next to Thornton Primary School and ride a short tarmac section of the traffic free "Great North Trail" . We then cross Thornton road to climb through thornton cemetary to wells head road. turning left we then turn onto half acre road then ten yards lane continuing down (be careful on the S bed) and UP whalley lane to join the A629 denhlome-keighley main road (can sometimes be busy) for about 1/4 mile.
We turn left heading for oxenhope on trough lane . turn right at the dog and gun then meander down through oxenhope, left at "the lamb" using back leeming road . we turn left over the bridge onto lowertown then use shaw lane continuing up towards penistone hill. we turn right on marsh lane / sun street and descend into haworth.
think it will be too busy to "ride the cobbles" to the top of haworth but we will push/or ride the main road-to the top where we will stop for a lunch break for about 40 minutes.
we will descend the cobbles and head down towards haworth station and then ascending lees lane we turn right (before crossroads) onto hebden road before turning left for a short sharp UP on brow top lane . we carry on across the flappit lights and descend to cullingwoth where we pick up the "great north trail" and cross over hewenden viaduct to ascend station road to harecroft.
a quick right n right again gets us on to old allen road then across to black dyke lane , around the "rock n heifer pub" to once again meet half acre lane. at the end we turn right onto well heads lane heading to keelham. we cross thornton road heading uphill towards the farm shop but turn left after 100 yards to descend cragg lane then malt kiln lane left on headley lane and stop mid descent to turn left onto another section of the "great north trail" (option to stop again here at another cafe) or cycling over thornton viaduct to return to our start point at the primary school.

if you which to dress for the occassion - feel free !!!

An undulating ride to haworth to visit the famous 1940s festival

quiet country roads - a short busy section through denholme and out of haworth returning over both sections of the great north trail. road or hybrid tyres advised. there is a 200 metre section in thornton that we may need to push if its been wet.

chance to take photos and a cafe/snack/shopping stop in haworth for about 40 mins.

Pennies for a caffeine stop and sweet treat, spare inner tube, bike pump and levers, hand sanitizer, face mask and wipes and helmet/gloves.

We never leave anyone behind
