Starting point

L39 6SF

We will leave from Town Green Railway Station, which is on the Merseyrail Ormskirk line, and complete a loop of the lanes around Ormskirk and up to Scarisbrick. After a cafe stop, we will tackle the short but steep climb of Clieves Hill, before retiring to Town Green station.

Part of our Breeze ride series, "Autumn to Winter", this ride may only be 26 miles but it has a couple of tough little climbs to challenge your legs and lungs!

The ride is on roads and country lanes and riders should be comfortable riding in a group in light traffic.

We will be making a stop for refreshments at the Scarisbrick Marina cafe about halfway through the ride.

As the ride is on roads, most bikes are suitable, including road, hybrid and mountain bike. Just make sure the bike is roadworthy and that you have spare inner tubes in case of a puncture. Helmets are strongly advised to be worn, along with layered warm and waterproof clothing.

This is a challenging ride, and we welcome riders who are used to riding on the road, up short climbs and can ride at a pace of 10-12 mph in a group.
