Around Strathaven - Summer of Cycling 2021

Heading out from Newton Mearns through Eaglesham and over Ardochrigg, we will ride in the country lanes by Strathaven. We will pass through Sandford, Stonehouse and Chapelton before returning via Eaglesham. We have an option to stop at the Heron Cafe - which is pictured above!

This is a Challenging Ride, which is great for more experienced riders, allowing you to cover a good distance and conquer some hills in the comfort of a group. Whether you’re in training for a cycling challenge or just want to take your riding up a notch, our Challenging rides are a great place to start.

1. Clearly we need to ride in line with the Scottish Government's guidance on COVID-19 at all times. Please do not leave your home to undertake exercise or outdoor activity if Scottish Government advice means you should stay at home because you or someone you live with has or has had symptoms of COVID-19.

2. Physical distancing between the leader and participants must be maintained, where possible.

3. Please also make sure before taking part that your bike is mechanically sound and bring your own food and drink, inner tubes, gloves, face coverings and hand sanitiser to help assist with social distancing and preventing unnecessary contact.

4. Please practice good respiratory hygiene during the activity (i.e.coughing, sneezing into a tissue or the crook of an elbow)
