An angel, a brick head, bulls and a toad...
Sunday 10th July 2022 (rescheduled from Sunday 3rd July) - 23 miles
Expect to be out for about 4hrs in total.

Ride description:
The ride title says it all!...
Our route will begin with a steady climb up to the Angel of the North. After obligatory photos, we'll drop through Birtley, where we'll join the C2C route... We'll then follow a steady incline (past a brick head and metal bulls), before using a link road to join the Tanfield Railway cycleway, which will drop us in to Watergate Park (the toad!)...
A lovely route but some of the terrain is quite rough. Mostly suited to gravel, hybrid and mountain bikes. Road bikes will not cope with some of the terrain and are not suitable for this route.

Please make sure your bike is in working condition PRIOR to arriving for the ride and bring a spare inner tube to fit your tyres (check the valve type too!) and/or a puncture repair kit. The leaders can help you fix a puncture, but only if you have the right size inner tube for your bike or a puncture repair kit!
Whilst we welcome any bike type, we have zero knowledge of e-bikes, so if you are riding an e-bike, please come prepared to independently sort out any mechanicals that you may have.

Helmets are not mandatory, but are strongly advised.

If the weather is poor, we will only contact you if we are cancelling the ride and will do so by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding.

If you book on this ride and then find you have to cancel, please do so as soon as you can so that your place is available to someone else.

PHOTOGRAPHY - The organiser of the ride may take photographs or videos of the ride and riders for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride, you agree that photographic images of you or containing you, may be used by the organiser, sponsors or promoters of the ride for publicity purposes
