The route passes along the well trodden route 91 through Whalley, Wiswell, Pendleton and Downham, climbing over Middop to Barnoldswick. From here a there is a section of the Pennine cycleway (route 68), including a short length of the Leeds Liverpool canal, to Gargrave, with a potential lunch stop at the famous Dalesman Cafe, or at the Town End Farm Cafe at the next stop in Airton.
Return leg is to continue north on the Pennine cycleway which re-joins the Way of the Roses to climb over Scosthrop Moor after which there is a descent into Settle. Continue through Rathmell, Wigglesworth, Bolton-by-Bowland, Sawley, Chatburn, then the cycle path to Barrow, before finally to Whalley and Billington.
Total distance is 58 miles.

Mostly quiet back roads and lanes and known cycle routes

Lunch stop at Town End Farm tearoom at Airton with the option of a second stop at the Nectar Cafe after Wigglesworth

Helmets are always advisable though NOT compulsory. Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Cash / Card if you require lunch. Emergency or daytime running lights can be a good idea. *We recommend all participants carry emergency contact details about their person*
