Afternoon Ride to Victoria Park

A steady ride in the afternoon to Victoria Park in East London using quiet roads and segregated cycling lanes. This is a good ride to help build confidence in real traffic. It is mainly flat but at 26 miles it’s not short.

We will cycle through Kilburn, Camden and Islington, cutting through London Fields and Well Street Common which lands us at Victoria Park. We will go for a lap around the park then stop for a break at the Pavilion Café.

After that we carry on along Regent’s Canal and Mile End Park where we will join 2 segregated cycling lines: C2 at Mile End and Whitechapel, joining C3 at Tower Hill all the way to Hyde Park. We cycle through Little Venice and Maida Vale to get to Roundwood Park. We aim to be back by 7pm.

IMPORTANT POINTS: *Helmets aren't compulsory but advisable. *Check that your tyres are pumped and bring a spare inner tube and all necessary tools in case of a puncture. *If you have Covid-19 or have been told to self-isolate, or can't make it for any other reason, please cancel your space so someone else can join. *Only riders who booked themselves on the ride will be allowed to join. *Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a rain coat just in case.
