From Coate water we follow Route 45 of the National Cycle Network and brach off just North of Chiseldon for a short road section and then join the traditional Castles Bike Route to Barbury Castle, we track down Smeeths Ridge to get us to Ogbourne St George and then its back up the Railway path to the cafe. We then re-follow R45 back to Coate water

If you misssed the Castles Bike Ride this year or if you just didn't feel like riding on your own here's another opportunity. The ride is free but should you wish you are welcome to make a donation to the Castle Bike Ride charity Macmillan Cancer Support

A large proportion of the route is (vehicle) Traffic free but we will be sharing with dog walkers, ramblers, bike riders and Horses (some pulling traps)

Before the final push back to Caote water we will visit the very popular Three Trees Cafe

Don’t forget a full water bottle with your favourite thirst quencher. Please bring a face mask; you may have to wear it on entering the café and in the event of first aid being required. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted on then a spanner that fits the nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or debit card for the coffee stop as some café’s only take card payments.

First-timers welcome!
