We start car park at the end of Radyr Road, Llandaff North, no toilets, close to Llandaff station and head through Danescourt, Fairwater, towards the Vale and Brides Super Ely. We then climb to Clawdd-coch, Tre-Dodrige onto Welsh St Donats on quiet country lanes. We then join A4222 for a few miles through Aberthin and then onto Cowbridge. After our lunch stop in Cowbridge, we return to Cardiff (not doubt cake fuelled!) via Welsh St Donats, and Peterston Super Ely and finally through the suburbs of Cardiff to Llandaff.

Covid-19 measures in place for the safety of us all:

* If you, or anyone in your household, or contacts have had any symptoms of Covid-19, i.e. runny nose, headache, new persistent cough, or fever or loss of taste or smell, in the last 14 days, or if you feel unwell in any other way, then please do not sign up. I will also need you to confirm to me at the ride start that you and your household are symptom free.

* If you are in the extremely vulnerable category or have been told to self-isolate Welsh Cycling recommends you do not participate in activities

** Please avoid touching others' bikes, or sharing anything, eg food, spares, money (ideally bring a card).

* Bring your own hand gel/wipes, drink and snack. NB come prepared to fix issues on your bike yourself if at all possible, ie pump, spare tube, tyre levers. Guidance will be available at a distance.

This is a challenging ride that takes us through some really pretty villages in the Vale. There is approx. 2,200ft climbing, but the views are worth it and there will of course be cake to help you get up the hills.

We will be on Cardiff’s suburban roads, quiet narrow country lanes and an A road for a few miles that is busier. We will also be on the Ely Trail which is a rough gravel surface, however it is relatively short section of the ride. This ride would be suitable for all types of bikes.

We will be stopping in Happy Days Café in Cowbridge for lunch. We can sit outside the café, or if you prefer we can buy take-out drinks and food and sit in the Physic Garden if the weather is dry.

Please wear a helmet, bring money for the cafe, and a mask to wear.

We never leave anyone behind
