Starting point

Oxfordshire
SN6 8AG

We should call this one of our three counties rides. We leave Oxfordshire shortly after we depart the start area and just creep into the northern limits of Wiltshire as make our way up and down a couple of hills in and out of Highworth, the main loop of the ride which takes us alongside the south west side airfield and into Fairford town for coffee. We then take a northern loop around the airfield before eventually coming home via Highworth again

We head off North West to go round the airfield that's famous for the Annual Tatoo, we may be even see a plane or two. This airfield hosted Concorde 002's maiden flight from Fulton and was designated as an emergency landing strip for some Shuttle missions

We'll will on country roads all of the time

Currently checking several possibilities in Fairford; we will let all participants know in good time

Please bring a face mask; you will only have to wear it in the event of first aid being required. For all our rides you should bring at least a spare inner tube and a pump. If your wheels are bolted on then a spanner that fits the nuts is also essential. Helmets are not compulsory but most definitely recommended. You should dress appropriately for the weather, and consider bringing your mobile phone along with cash or card for the coffee stop.

We welcome new comers to our ride group, but we want you to enjoy the ride so please consider the route, distance and terrain. If this ride is likely to be a bit difficult then check out our other rides which we put on for newbies and returners and join us on something easier
