Starting point

Greater Manchester
BL5 3LZ

This route is predominantly a road route around the South Ribble which will also include some good quality cycle paths. This is a challenging ride and there will be some moderate inclines to negotiate along the way to add to the fun!

We'll set off from Westhoughton heading towards Blackrod, and then through the villages of Adlington, Euxton, and Runshaw Moor. We will arrive at our café stop in Worden Park - the first of two parks on this route. Where we will have refreshments and a chance for a chat!

Following our lunch stop we will head home using the Chorley loopline, through Buckshaw Village where we will arrive at the beautiful Astley Hall, and then onto Rivington reservoir before arriving back in Westhoughton.

You need to be confident with traffic, and capable of riding at an average speed of 10 - 12mph.

Please bring a spare inner tube or puncture repair kit and dress to suit the weather conditions. Please bring money to buy drinks/snacks or provide your own. We always ride at a social pace to suit the whole group. We have lots of stops along the way and nobody gets left behind. We are a friendly group and welcome newcomers to our rides.

This ride is suitable for a road bike or hybrid (road tyres). Wearing a helmet is mandatory for this ride.
