Heading east through Boughton, Moulton, Lamport, Earls Barton before looping back through Cogenhoe and Sywell (see map for detailed route) . Please bring some money for a refreshments stop at the cafe .
The estimated ride duration is based on a steady pace of around 12 – 13mph, but we will always try to adapt to riders in the group, so that nobody gets left behind (on occasion though, if we find that someone is way off the pace, we will make sure that another rider who knows the route rides with them). Please ride to the pace of the leader to make it a 'sociable ride' (apart from maybe just on short hilly sections).
The ride is for a maximum of 8 riders (the cafe indoor seating area is quite small), but there is another ride at 12noon following the same route.
We always try to be considerate towards other road users and will stop or pull over if holding up traffic too much.
The route contains several hilly sections, so please consider if you can cycle at this pace over this distance before signing up (this is classed as ‘steady’ ride rather than ‘easy-going’ ride, so a reasonable level of ‘bike fitness’ is required). Please arrive at the starting point 10-15 minutes before the departure time, so that the group is not being held up and we can make a prompt start.
Anyone leaving the planned route earlier, or perhaps wanting to shoot off home at a faster pace in the latter stages of the ride, please just let the leader or someone else in the group know.
If you find yourself unable to join the ride after booking, please cancel your space at least the day before the ride if possible. If the ride is fully booked and you no-show, you are preventing someone else from joining the ride. Any questions, please message me via LetsRide or on 07886 860468 on the day. See you there – Paul
