We're a cycling group with a difference, really not interested in belting along hell for leather trying to be the fastest or fittest, it's about savouring the moment, cruising along country lanes, canal towpaths, bridleways, in no particular hurry (a bit like when we were kids!). What better way to see the countryside than a leisurely ride on your bicycle. So why not come along and join in - we only go as fast as the slowest amongst us, and we take rest stops, photo stops, conversation stops, cafe stops and pub stops, as often as you feel the need or the urge, it's all about enjoying each and every moment of the ride. Membership of Woo Woo Wheelers is FREE, as are the rides, though we would appreciate occasional voluntary donations towards running costs. In return you are receiving at least 26 great planned guided rides a year plus, once you have completed 6 rides, access to special discounts of at least 10% on cycling clothing, accessories, tools and services, and even up to £20 on your first membership subscription to British Cycling. Our rides are open to you, your family and friends too - no pets though and please, no children under 16 unless accompanied by an adult, and unfortunately no children on their own cycles under the age of 10, unless of course they are capable of riding at least 15 miles at an average of 8mph and their bicycle is suitable for off road terrain (that or hook them up to your bike instead!). We ask that you take steps to be safe, make sure your bicycle is road worthy and please try to ensure you carry some of the basics, a pump, tools, puncture repair kit, spare inner tube(s), basic first aid (in case you get any cuts or grazes), money, mobile phone. We also require you to wear a helmet and be equipped with lights and/or high visibility/reflective/bright clothing (just in case it turns dull before the end of a ride). As these rides do often go off road they wont always suit road bikes, but if a route is suited to road bikes the event page will advise you of this. Scheduled rides will generally take place every fortnight at weekends (only weekends during the period from late September to early April) and these will invariably be added to during the period from April to September with weekday evening rides as well, so hopefully this will enable most people to make it to some of the rides at some point. This is a purely social group of like minded people sharing a love of cycling, it is not a formal organisation nor does it have any form of legal structure. We do not all profess to be trained ride leaders but those that aren't do have experience of doing so. You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do this in acceptance that it is entirely at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss or injury suffered as a result of your participation.
